Lady Bobcats Win 4th Straight, Downing Clarion U
Strong second half pushes BSC over Clarion University
Rochester, NY – The Bryant and Stratton women's basketball team improved to 4-2 overall on Saturday night with an 72-62 win over NCAA Division II at home. A strong defensive second half was the key that led to the victory, only allowing 23 points in the final 20 minutes.
Dorian Sharp once again led the way for the Lady Bobcats with a team high 18 points in the win. Bryant and Stratton finished with 2 other double digit scorers; Kadijah Jones and Keyanah Price also added 14 and 11 points, respectfully.
A total of ten different players got their name in the scorer's booklet in the contest for the Lady Bobcats. Myjoi Adams and Kathryn Kanhoye just missed out on double figure scoring, Adams scoring 9 and Kanhoye adding 8 points.
Clarion came on strong in the first quarter looking to revenge their early season loss to Bryant and Stratton, taking a 7 point lead after the first ten minutes of play. The strong play continued into the second frame for the Golden Eagles taking a 6 point lead over the home team Lady Bobcats into the break.
Coming out of the break, the coaching staff of Bryant and Stratton made some great defensive adjustments, only allowing Clarion to score 6 points in the third quarter of play. They outscored the Golden Eagles 39-23 in the second half, holding Clarion to the amount they scored in the first period of play.
Clarion's leading scorer was Emily Brown who scored 13 points in the defeat. The Golden Eagles fell to 2-6 on the season.
The Lady Bobcats are now 4-2 on the season, earning their 4th straight victory. They get back to work Sunday evening, against Bryant and Stratton Buffalo in Rochester once again.
