Shandare Figgins Named USCAA DI Player of the Week
Bryant & Stratton College freshman, small forward Shandare Figgins was named USCAA DI Player of the Week after averaging 23.5 points, 14 rebounds and three assists per game over the past week.
Figgins was instrumental for the Bobcats in a difficult road showdown with Fisher College, leading the team with 22 points and helping to lead a furious comeback to force overtime. Figgins' double-double was pivotal in the Bobcats second half surge. A surge capped by Figgins game-tying three pointer late in the half. Fisher would ultimately triumph depsite Figgins 22 points and 13 rebounds in 45 minutes of action.
With Figgins leading the way once again, the Bobcats bounced back with a 25-point win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent, the 13th ranked team in the USCAA. Figgins played a team-high 39 minutes and paced Bryant & Stratton with 25 points on the afternoon. He added 15 rebounds while shooting 64% from the field. Figgins' play powered the Bobcats to a dominant victory over a team they're chasing in the polls.
For the year, the UPREP product and Rochester native is averaging 23.5 points per game with 14 rebounds, shooting 60% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc.
