Second Half Surge Falls Short Against Central Penn
Head coach Troy Jackson used the words heart and hustle to describe the efforts of his team following an 80-76 loss at the hands of Central Penn on Saturday.
The Bobcats played the Knights close through an intense contest from beginning to end. Central Penn ran out to an 11-0 lead before Victor Caldwell finally broke through for Bryant & Stratton. Two more threes from Caldwell and Shandare Figgins pulled the Bobcats back after the early run and the rest of the half would be a back-and-forth affair.
Both teams would continue to trade baskets in the second half but Central Penn would open another 11-point advantage for the Bobcats to contend with. And that was just what BSC would do.
While Bryant & Stratton managed to claw back from the deficit, they’d find themselves chasing for much of the second half as Central Penn managed to stay just out of reach. But late in the half, the Bobcats caught another run, pulling back within two possessions as the clock wound down.
The comeback would ultimately fall short with the Knights claiming the 80-76 win. Five Bobcats scored in double figures, led by Figgins’ 17 and Campbell and Robert Davis’ with 14 points apiece.
Bryant & Stratton will remain on the road as they travel to face Onondaga Community College on Wednesday. The Bobcats social media channels and bscbobcats.com will have coverage of the matchup.
