‘Cats fall just short of avenging earlier loss to Fisher College
ROCHESTER, NY – Looking to even the season series, The Bryant & Stratton Rochester Bobcats hosted
the Fisher College Falcons at James Monroe High School. In Boston, on December 16 th the Falcons
topped the Bobcats 69-45. This time around it was a much tighter contest.
The game was a back and fourth affair for the entirety of the first half. Any time one team
started to pull away, the other would respond with buckets and defensive stops. Rochester took
advantage of the three-point shooting and was able to minimize turnovers. By the end of the half, the
Bobcats had a 35-31 lead.
Coming out of the intermission, both teams continued to battle with neither side gaining much of an
advantage over the other. Rochester's shooting slowed a bit to start but the 'Cats forced difficult
possessions for the Falcons to keep the game close. With just over 5 minutes left in the game, the score
was tied at 54. Fisher was able to stop the Bobcat's offense and capitalize on free-throws. Over the next
two minutes, they would establish a 10-point advantage, the biggest lead in the game for any team up
until that point. A couple of three-pointers kept the lead to single digits and with a minute left,
Rochester trailed by 7. Making 14 out of 15 free throws down the stretch, the Falcons ended up topping
Rochester by a final score of 79-66. The Bobcats record moves to 2-15 while Fisher improves to 8-14.
