Bryant & Stratton Grabs Fourth Straight Win in Dominating Performance Against ACPHS
Make it four-straight for the streaking Bryant & Stratton College women’s basketball team. Double doubles from Dorian Sharp and Kadijah Jones helped lead the Bobcats to a 76-41 win over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
The win was not only the fourth-straight overall but the fifth in BSC’s last six games and the third-straight in which their stifling defense held their opponent to fewer than 50 points.
Among the many impressive trends, the Bobcats have developed over their winning streak, hot starts have been among the most consistent. After running out to a huge lead on ECC on Sunday, the Bobcats did the same against ACPHS last night.
With 24 first quarter points, the Bobcats more than doubled ACPHS’ output in the opening frame. BSC would tack on 17 more points in the second quarter and lead 41-23 at the half.
Sharp continued to serve as Bryant & Stratton’s offensive catalyst, leading the Bobcats with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Jones got in on the fun with 17 points and 11 rebounds of her own as the pair flirted with outscoring ACPHS all on their own.
They’d get help from Shanell Glover’s 16 points and Jaisy Soto’s almost automatic 10 point contribution.
BSC’s 19-point halftime lead may have represented a difficult hill for ACPHS to climb coming out of the break, but the Bobcats weren’t satisified and put the Panthers into an even deeper hole by the end of the third quarter. An absolutely dominating 21-6 run put the game completely out of reach and all but guaranteed the Bobcats would be extending their winning streak.
The victory moves Bryant & Stratton to 5-2 in their inaugural season, including an impressive 4-1 road record. The Bobcats will return home and open their December schedule against Point Park University on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00.
