Knights too much for the Bobcats
ROCHESTER, NY – For their third game in four days, The Bryant & Stratton College of Rochester Bobcats hosted the Central Penn College Knights at James Monroe High School. This is the second meeting for the two programs, with the Knights coming away with a 79-61 win on January 6th.
The rigorous schedule was beginning to show its wear on the Bobcats as Central Penn was red hot right from the tip-off, beginning the game with back-to-back threes. They would score 10 consecutive points before the Bobcats were able to respond. The Knights would continue their excellent three-point shooting for much of the half. That, combined with solid defense and cold shooting from Rochester would allow them to take a commanding 22-7 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. The 'Cats would shoot a little better the rest of the half, but still went into the intermission trailing the visitors 42-22.
The start of the second half was very similar to the end of the first. Both teams were able trade off buckets with Central Penn gaining a slight edge. With five minuets left in the game, the Knights had stretched their lead to 69-41. The Knights were able to keep up the pressure for the rest of the game to cruise to a win. Rochester splits their 4-game homestand at 2-2 and pushes their overall record to 4-17.
Up next: Rochester hits the road once again on Wednesday the sixth of February, this time to take on the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Panthers are 8-8 this season.
