Bobcats make it back-to-back
ROCHESTER, NY – The Bryant & Stratton College Rochester Bobcats began their weekend doubleheader by hosting The College of St. Joseph (Vt.) Fighting Saints at James Monroe High School. Coming off a win two days earlier, the Bobcats looked to make it two in a row at home.
CSJ hit the first basket of the game but that would be as far as their lead would stand. Rochester scored the next five points, got off to a strong start, and never looked back. The 'Cats took high percentage shots and moved the ball well. Rochester also took control of the glass, out-rebounding the Saints. By the intermission, the hosts were able to stretch the margin to 14, their largest halftime lead of the season.
At the start of the second, Rochester continued to shoot well and take advantage of some foul trouble by St Joseph. With just over 13 minutes left in the game, the Bobcats had increased their lead to 21 points. The Saints refused to go away and hide and made a push toward the end of regulation. CSJ made consecutive stops on defense and converted them into layups, but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback as Rochester held them off. The game ended in a 102-88 victory for the Bobcats. Rochester gets their 4 th win of the season, their second in a row, second at home, and second scoring over 100 points.
Up next: BSC will finish their four-game homestand on Sunday, with a rematch against the Central Penn Knights starting at 1:00 p.m. at James Monroe High School. The Knights sit at 9-10 this season and will try to fight off BSC-Rochester who they forced into 27 turnovers and beat 79-61.
